It’s no secret that staying in Noosa is not cheap. There are some beautiful hotels, resorts and holiday houses but they generally come with a high price tag. Camping or staying in caravan parks can be a more affordable way to visit Noosa. Plus, you get to stay out in nature in an absolutely stunning part of Australia! This post will give a rundown of all the caravan parks in Noosa. There are a few that are close to the town of Noosa Heads, and others in the surrounding areas. I’ll provide a quick overview of the facilities at each, to help you decide which of the caravan parks in Noosa is the best option for your visit.

Noosa River Holiday Park
The Noosa River Holiday Park is one of the best-located caravan parks in Noosa. It is set right on the riverfront, walking distance to the centre of Noosaville, and also to Hastings Street. If you are looking for a camping option, but still want to stay in the heart of the action then this is definitely the spot for you. You won’t find that typical camping serenity, being right in town. But you will have access to the river, restaurants, cafes, activities and the beach. The Noosa River Holiday Park only offers power and unpowered sites, no cabins. I highly recommend booking in advance to get a waterfront site. The location of the caravan park is perfect for sunset, and waking up to river views every day is magic.

Ingenia Holidays Noosa
Ingenia Holidays Noosa is located in Tewantin, a short drive from Noosaville and Noosa Heads. It is a little further out of town, but still close enough to enjoy the most popular parts of Noosa with a short drive. The park has all the amenities and facilities you expect from a chain caravan park. There are both sites and cabins to choose from. As well as pools, an inflatable jumping cushion and a games room for the kids. If you stay here, be sure to check out the nearby Tewantin National Park, and Mount Tinbeerwah, a great spot for sunset.

Ingenia Holidays Noosa North
Ingenia Holidays Noosa North is located just up the road on the other side of Tewantin. This park is very close to the car ferry to cross over the river to the Noosa North Shore, so be sure to plan some time over there during your visit. Again offering sites and cabins, and all the amenities like pools, a playground, games room, camp kitchen etc. A great option if you have kids to entertain, and the park is also pet friendly.

Noosa North Shore Retreat
The Noosa North Shore Retreat is a large complex containing accommodation, a bar and grill, a general store, and a campground. Located over the Noosa River in the Noosa North Shore you will need to take the car ferry to access the park. Whilst the North Shore is a beautiful part of Noosa and well worth a visit, I wouldn’t suggest staying here as a base to explore the rest of Noosa. The car ferry costs $10 each way and can be busy with long wait times at peak times. If you do want to visit the North Shore for a few days, the Retreat is located in the main street and is closer to the few amenities on the North Shore in comparison to the other option which I will discuss below.

Noosa North Shore Beach Campground
If you really want to get away from it all for a few days, you can’t beat the Noosa North Shore Beach Campground. Located literally beachfront, this is the perfect spot to unwind and disconnect for a few days. As above, I wouldn’t suggest using this as a base to explore the rest of Noosa. But it is a great addition to any trip to the area for a few days. Swimming, surfing, fishing and 4WD’ing on the beach can all be done on the North Shore, and it is a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of Noosa. There are only powered and unpowered sites available here, so come with a tent, caravan or campervan!

Habitat Noosa
Habitat Noosa offers a natural getaway of a different variety. Set on the shores of Lake Cootharaba in Boreen Point, the park is nestled inside the Great Sandy National Park. If you’re looking for a typical camping experience out in nature, Habitat is a great option. You’re almost guaranteed to spot kangaroos, you can kayak or paddleboard on the lake and into the Noosa Everglades, and enjoy the surrounding bushland.
Habitat is unique as it also offers a glamping option. If you want the camping experience, but don’t want to DIY you can stay in one of their Paperbark Glamping Tents or Wilderness Safari Tents. Habitat Noosa has achieved Ecotourism Australia eco-certification, meaning they operate a sustainable tourism business with minimal impact on the environment, which is an added bonus! The park is about 30 minutes outside of Noosa, so probably not the best option if you want to spend most of your time at the beach or in Hastings Street. But the park itself has a ton of amenities, including a restaurant, a micro-brewery and an ice cream shop.

Boreen Point Campground
Another option set on Lake Cootharaba in Boreen Point, Boreen Point Campground offers powered and unpowered sites only. There are no cabins or glamping tents, so you’ll need to be self-sufficient. Pitch your tent or set up your van in the shady bushland, or along the foreshore of the lake. Closer to the town of Boreen Point, you can walk to the small main street, with a café and historic pub. This part of Noosa is beautiful. The lake is huge and fringed by bushland, and you’re likely to spot a family of pelicans on the water as you have your morning coffee. Oh, and you can bring your furry friend along too!
